When you close your eyes,
Everything around you seems to come to life,
Everything you touch seems too real to be true,
It’s a nightmare and I’ve slept through long enough to figure it’s you….
It’s a surreal oneness you feel with the world you live in,
Forced to trust only what you believe in,
The pungent scent of the ashes of a distant past,
In the blinding light of reality, I find peace at last.
Every night, the same vision,
A dead father, stripped of his glory,
Mangled in the essence of a rose,
The unfinished end, of a fighter’s story.
Vengeance has driven to me learn the value of mercy,
It has taught me to pick myself up when I fall,
For I have learnt more than a vision that sees the bright aspects of life,
Through the vision that doesn’t see at all.
People deserve to admire all that I could never see,
Where the light ends, I begin,
An attempt to give back what was taken away from me,
Justice is not sensitive, it is not kind,
Designed to uphold only what’s true.
Unfortunately the truth is that justice is blind,
So it does not see who it is given to,
Innocence is an endangered phenomena that is driven away by fear,
Intimidation is useless against the fearless,
Torture is indifferent for the painless.
Without pain I stand, without fear I stand ready to take crime back to the shadowy layers of defiance,
The Devil they call me,
The dark answer to the plea of your clear conscience,
So over the roof tops I rally through the shadows,
Waiting, watching….
Fighting for the truth, fighting for what’s right,
Fighting in darkness, forever in darkness….
